Client Reviews

“Rachael is amazing! She really is interested in getting you better in the long-term. I had a quad injury that wouldn't fully heal after a year, and had seen multiple doctors and PTs. It's been two weeks since my visit with Rachael and two weeks of being pain-free!!”
— Ellen W.
“I went here for a therapeutic injury massage, to address a flare up of a long term issue in my quads. Rachael was great. She worked to find the points that were creating tension and stress in my leg, and I have felt wholly better these last few days. I've been through PT for this injury, and this session was equally effective, if not more.
This is an excellent place for sports and injury massages. Rachael's goal is to get you well, and she will even give you tips on what to do on your own. I'd highly recommend, and intend to go back if I have another flare up.”
— Elizabeth S
“Rachael is the best. She’s passionate, informative and committed to her craft. The only thing that matches her technical skill is her compassion and willingness to help others heal. She is beautiful inside and out.
A true asset to anyone who is in need of her services. In a world full of stale and sub-par health care systems, she truly is a breath of fresh air. I’d love to hide this information and keep her as my private little gem, but that would be selfish and the world deserves better.”
— Bradley F.
“If you want your massage therapist to actually fix you, come see Rachael. She's all business and good at what she does. This is the only legitimate therapeutic massage service in Chicago that I am aware of. You will be sore the next day and it will 100% be worth it. Make sure you listen about wearing gym clothes as this is a fully clothed massage. The one session I had with Rachael was more effective than 10 with other therapists. If you have found this review and are questioning about booking, do it.”
— Rayna A.
“I have been seeing Rachael about every month for the last 8 months. Her work is an investment in your health and body. She will always ask you what your body needs, and cater the session around your needs. Every time I leave a session, I notice that my body feels more relaxed and relieved.
Rachael is also an amazing conversationalist. It is easy to talk to her during the session. I find that I keep rescheduling and recommending her partially because of her work and skill, but also because she is a valuable and worthwhile person to connect with.”
— Keriann G.
“I had another fantastic experience with Rachael. The new facility is spacious and lovely, and as per usual, Rachael was amazing. She is the only massage therapist that really has made a difference for me. She is the best!”
— Scubi X.
“Complete continuation of the excellent healing powers Rachael has brought to the table. Clean new facility. Great space. Ample off street parking. Strongly recommend.”
— Bill V.
“I would give Rachael, the owner, 5 stars if only it were easier to schedule. Rewind a few months ago to a migraine that wouldn't quit pounding my traps and head with a sledge hammer. I walked in and Rachael fixed me in about 30 seconds FOR FREE with a promise that I would make an appointment. Rachael used to work with elderly who had the pains of transition so she does clothes on active stretches that have alleviated my worst pains in a matter of moments and she gives exercises to aid in maintaining your gains. Ask for Rachael, the owner, by making an appointment online. If there is a wait she is we worth it!!!”
— Melissa S.
“My husband purchased a gift certificate for me last year. I found the time to finally schedule an appointment and now I think after not getting to scheduling this appointment - what in world was I waiting for?! I have chronic neck and back pain along with lots of arthritis from being an athlete - all code for lots of pain. I went to my appointment with Rachael expecting a relaxing and passive massage. I was completely wrong, but walked out extremely grateful for Rachael's methods. A lot of the work is a little bit active on your part. And while you may be thinking this is not a good thing, it is very effective. After Rachael finished I felt like a baby - no pain; felt loose and like a completely new person. I can't emphasize enough how effective Rachael's methods are. And Rachael is a lovely person with honorable intentions of bettering the live of her patients. Make your appointment today. You will be more than satisfied. I highly recommend Rachael!!!”
— Michelle Z.
“Rachael has worked with me intermittently for the past few years. This means that when she works with me, the results are long lasting. She has an intuition about the non-conventional things that can cause low back, hip, or leg pain. Until she placed weights on my front to treat my back, I didn't correlate my low back pain to my previous anterior abdominal procedures (FYI: those procedures didn't involve any spinal anesthesia). I get "regular" deep tissue massages for relaxation (from other places) but if I really need help, I go to Rachael.”
— Christie B.
“Maybe too soon to tell, but honestly my back hasn't felt this good in a very, very long time. I had my first session today with Rachael and although the process was painful at times, I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I'm writing this as I sit on my couch which normally would result in a ton of discomfort, but I currently feel great. Most importantly, standing up from a sitting position no longer requires 20 seconds of having to straighten my back out like I'm 80 years old.
I'm curious to see how my back feels during/after a workout, but either way I haven't had this sort of back relief in a very long time. I also notice my sciatica is currently not bothering me at all.
Thank you Rachael!”
— Alex W.
“Rachael knows what she's doing! Having hip pain all my life she really dove in and figured out my issues and a lot of relief from even just one visit!”
— Kelsey G.
“Booked a session for my husband as a birthday gift. He's been having some issues with his upper back neck area for some time. We tried to address the issues ourselves using mobility techniques, but the pain would not go away. Rachael was AMAZING! She not only addressed my husband’s issues but also took the time to explain the issue and what is driving the pain. We've tried to get to the root of the issue by seeing our fair share of physical therapists, massage therapists, and watching online mobility videos and none compare to Rachael's knowledge and expertise. We will be back again for a few more individual sessions and a couples class to learn how to better maintain our physical health. I would HIGHLY recommend booking a session.”
— Vicki V.
“Rachael is a wizard. I have a recurring neck injury that has periodically taken me out of athletic competition for extensive periods of time. In the past, PT's usually had to work with me for 1-2 months before I was able to be physically functional again. In a single session, Rachael had me up and running. Rachael really knows her stuff, and she actually listens to what you have to say and is thoughtful about it. I would definitely recommend her.”
— Mac B.
“I was suffering from pain between my shoulder blades for a very long time. I saw Rachael only once but haven't felt the pain since then. Its been a few weeks and I'm relieved. She explained everything, why I was having the pain in the first place and what muscles I should work on to keep the pain from returning. So far, so good! She also did cupping on me, which I've always wanted to try. I will be returning for another session in the future.”
— Sian D.
“Simply put, going to see Rachael was the best decision I've made for my body maybe ever. Several years of running and generally overdoing it resulted in IT band syndrome, hip pain, and sciatic pain. Yippee. PT, sports massage, and ART didn't solve it. After 2 years of hip pain that had me hurting after walking any more than 2 miles, Rachael was able to make some adjustments and release some tension that made it completely disappear immediately. As in I went for a 4 mile walk one weekend and was in pain (as usual); saw Rachael once; went for a 4 mile walk the next weekend and felt ZERO pain. Sciatic pain is gone. I'm still working on getting my IT and knee into running order, but I can already feel that physical therapy and strength building exercises are so much more effective now that my problem areas have been released. To top it off, she gave me some great tips for maintaining what progress we made. I will definitely go back as needed, but frankly I doubt that will be necessary. Rachael knows what's up. Don't hesitate to go see her.”
— Mary Kate S.
“Rachael really knows what she is doing! A desk oriented lifestyle was really taking its toll on my performance on the lifting platform during the past year and in the first session she was able to find the root of many problems, address them and suggest changes to my routine. It is really refreshing to find someone who not only can correlate these factors and help me tailor my passion to progress forward under these circumstances. Her method of more aggressive releases compared to other practitioners I visited in the past was just what I needed. I will definitely continue to make visits here and get tuned up.”
— Alan L.
“Ok—Rachael is awesome. Like many of the other reviews on here, I went to Rachael specifically because I have had a nagging back issue for nearly two years. This bizarre, middle back pain I've had has gotten the "sorry, there's really not much we can do for that area of the back". This pain started turning into a quality of life issue once I started waking up so stiff, I was nearly unable to move without a good coating of IcyHot. With the marathon approaching quickly, I needed help.
I explained to Rachael what the issue was, and she was extremely knowledgeable about what could have been causing the pain and how to pinpoint it. She gave me a thorough explanation about how the pain likely didn't start in my back, per se, but from other surrounding muscles being strained due to running.
After a couple of different massage techniques and trying the process of cupping, I am happy to say that this is the first time I woke up in nearly three weeks without pain in my back after completing my 20 mile run. As stated in another review, another thing that is awesome about Rachael is that her end goal is truly to provide you with a solution to your pain during that visit, not to set you up as a regular client. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing Rachael for any injury pain relief, particularly one that seems to be mysterious or lingering with no previous resolve.”
— Amy L.
“Went for the first time specifically because of the reviews and the focus described on the website. I had a soreness in my shoulder that I was looking to address. Rachael was very knowledgeable and helpful. She focused on fixing the problem, not setting you up as a regular client. I would highly recommend if you are looking for help with an issue, not a spa massage.”
— Alan S.
Here is my looong awaited review. I was in excruciating pain for over a year resulting from a back injury while working out. I couldn't sit, walk or do anything without pain. Before I came here, I had chiro adjustments and various therapies such as cupping, acupuncture, massage, etc. I was even hinted injections by an orthopedic . But after coming here to see Rachael 6-7 times, I noticed a huge change and improvement in my back! I am extremely happy with the results and can't say enough about Rachael's knowledge and skills. She personalizes each person's needs through trigger point massage and cupping (highly recommended), and self care. I'm glad I found this place. I wish I can go often…
— Urangua M.
“I quit a very stressful job a couple months ago but still was unable to sleep well. Rachael worked years of stress out of my neck muscles and I've been sleeping like a baby since! She also worked on my heel pain and gave me some therapies I could do at home. They are helping, I am seeing improvement. I would highly recommend her. She's confident yet easy going so you feel comfortable and that you are in good hands!”
— Teresa G.
“Rachael is very knowledgeable in her field. I have seen medical doctors and physical therapists that cannot ease the pain like she can.”
— Olivia C.
“PHENOMENAL! If you're on the fence about going here--- it's time to hop off the fence. I spent way too much time (and money!) on other ways to get rid on my sciatica and hip pain. After one hour long session I felt better than I had in two years. I felt like I wanted to skip around the neighborhood after my appointment. So, go for it. Your body will thank you.”
— Megan B.
“I have been here twice for a sports massage as I recover from a back injury. Rachael is fantastic. I've had lots of massages over the years but never a sports massage - this was very different, and while not relaxing per se, it was very effective. After my first session with Rachael, I felt a lot looser and was pain free for a week. She knows what the heck she is doing. She specializes in injury related massage sessions and I would hands down recommend her to anyone that is in pain and looking for some relief.”
— Casey F.
“Years of dysfunctional movement patterns (resulting from an unresolved hip injury) have become an increasingly forceful blow to my daily quality of life. I've spent a lot of time and money on different therapies, including exalted ones like PT and osteopathic, with little to no results. It's an understatement to say that I have felt utterly hopeless at times... which is why a Yelp review does no justice to the gratitude I now feel having found Chicago Bodywork!! but here goes my attempt anyway:
Rachael is one of those rare, fierce healers. Her dedication to technically mastering her craft is equally matched by her intuitive abilities in navigating the body. This woman is beyond impressive! Yet what I find most remarkable in Rachael's approach to healing is her desire to keep learning; Any practitioner, no matter the field, who's unwilling or uninterested in expanding their knowledge base beyond what was taught in school shouldn't be entrusted with the well-being of others. With Rachael, I know I'm in good hands. I know I'm being treated as a dynamic individual, not a case file. And I know that by investing in her care, I'm not only investing in my own quality of life, but supporting her journey in helping so many others too.
In my opinion, Rachael's services are well worth the cost, and the rate at which her calendar fills up speaks for itself! If you're looking for a relaxing spa massage, please don't book with Rachael. Instead, recommend her to someone you know in search of relief from chronic pain or experiencing an acute crisis. And let it be mentioned by someone with firsthand experience: effective therapeutic massage can be very uncomfortable at times, but if it doesn't "hurt so good" it's likely not working. If, like me, you're tired of frilly massages from people you feel awkward communicating with, congratulations, my friend: you need look no further than Chicago Bodywork!
(Thank you Rachael, for being the real deal, and for choosing to offer your gifts to the world; It's a better place with you in it.)”
— Leila R.
“What an amazing experience! Rachael understands bodies intuitively. She taught me that the pain in my back is actually from the tension in the front of my body - from hunching over a desk all day. She sought out the source of my pain and discovered connections in my body I may have never known. I'm grateful!”
— Caitlin C.
“Had a back and neck issue for months and went to chiropractors a few times trying to fix the pain and lack of motion. Finally tried another approach and saw Rachael. She beat the crap out of my back (in a good way) and opened up my shoulder/neck muscles - I have my range of motion back and feel so much better now. Thank you Rachael!”
— Matthew C.
“Rachael is THE BEST and I would put her more in the physical therapy/workkkkk it out category than a massage (in the very best way). I wasted so much money on 'deep tissue' massages only to feel cheated each time because no one really got into the knots the way I needed plus they spent all this time on areas that didn't need releasing. Cue Rachael...she only focused on the areas I asked and uses trigger points & a variety of other methods that I wouldn't pretend to know in order to really get into problem areas. She is tough and she will definitely get in there deep...expect to feel it the next day. Also, Rachael is a really caring, kind soul who puts you at ease immediately.”
— Rachel W.
“Rachael is amazing. I was in utter agony for months and came to Chicago Bodywork as a last resort. I spent thousands on chiropractors and physical therapy before coming with no results. Now I am doing great. I had a significant decrease in pain after the first visit and keep getting better (have been 4 times now). I can't recommend Rachael enough!”
— Nathan L.
“I found Rachael online after reading other rave reviews. It was easy to set up an appointment directly with her and she was extremely accommodating and flexible to try and fit me in when I was free.
This was the first time for me to get a therapeutic massage and Rachael was great about explaining everything she was doing and why. The way she stretched and worked my muscles was like a workout, and for days and weeks afterward I could feel the difference because all the stress and strain wasn't just temporarily relieved but eliminated.
If you're looking for a spa-like massage with more style than substance, this isn't for you, but if you want healing results and an informed professional who'll help you take care of your body long-term, Chicago Bodywork is for you.”
— Kaitlin M.
“Rachael is fantastic. I have chronic pain due to muscle spasms, and I feel like I accomplished more in two visits to her than I did in months of physical therapy. I don't see her to be pampered, I see her because she is knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and good at beating my trigger points into submission without making me feel like I'm dying. I'd recommend to anyone looking to get a serious massage at a reasonable price. She also has plenty of information to share on causes of pain, and has helped me to treat my issues better at home.”
— Tim D.
“I've dealt with years of neck pain, tingling and numbness in my elbows and wrists from too much typing/general overuse. Originally found Rachael on Yelp when I moved back to Chicago 2 years ago and saw her multiple times at her previous location. She's amazing. Really. She fixed my original issue immensely and I only see her a 3x a year tops now just to get a tune up. Her prices are extremely reasonable and you get actual therapy not a weird lotiony rubdown that costs $120. She's a genuinely nice person who cares about her clients. Highly recommended.”
— Janice R.
“Unbelievably good alternative therapy that blends massage, physical therapy and mindful care in a perfect combination to relieve pain and distress. Rachael takes a holistic approach, listens extremely carefully and customizes treatment. She is also very quick to recognize what you're trying to say when it's hard to articulate it clearly. If your pain is too deep for ordinary "deep tissue" massage, go see Chicago Bodywork and get the real deal.”
— Madison E.
“I would rather not post this review as you may take my time slot.....but look no further if you need real work done. Rachael is the real deal.
I'm a very active endurance athlete and I can say I've seen it all. Had terrible massages in which it felt like I was being tickled, sessions in which you can tell the person just has no idea what they are doing and really just wasting money.
If you are looking to have real work done on your body to remedy what is ailing you this is the spot. Don't be scared off by the idea that this is not a spa. Fixing kinks in the body is not always pleasent but enjoying being post session I always feel much better. No joke, at this point if I feel a tweak I'm heading to Rachael before I'd bother hitting a doctor.”
— Kevin F.
“Chicago Bodywork is fantastic. I hurt my shoulder and have been there a few times now and it's been incredibly effective treatment, and the communication and explanations have been top-notch. Super friendly, absolutely effective, just plain fantastic.”
— Randall K.
“Rachael is amazing. I was in terrible pain for almost a year before going to see her. Physical therapy wasn't enough, she helped give me my life back. If you're struggling with pain, go see her immediately.”
— Carla J.
“Rachael is absolutely amazing and truly passionate about her work! It was my first trip to Chicago and I happened to stumble upon her through Yelp. I've never received a better therapy massage and when I come back to Chicago in May I will be coming back to see her!!!
P.S. I only wish she would pack up leave Chicago and move to Baltimore, MD!
Thank you again!!”
— Ashley P.
“I wish I would have skipped physical therapy and just gone to Rachael from the start. I work at a stressful desk job and am constantly getting knots in my back. I also was still having numbness and tingling in my feet after a foot surgery 2 years ago. Rachael worked out some nasty knots and put a stop to my foot pain, while also explaining how various muscles were interconnected, and showing me some stretches I could do at home. All of this in 60 minutes. She is a genius.
If you want deep tissue, actual resolution to your pain, and not one of those dainty frou-frou massages, there is no one better. I have recommended her to everyone I know.”
— Kayla G.
“Rachael is extremely knowledgable, skilled, straightforward, and a pleasure to work with! I saw her a few times for my back issues and ended up sending my brother to her. Lucky for him, he lives much closer to her practice!”
— Izzy S.
“Rachael is so wonderful. She not only talked me through all of the steps she would take to help me find relief from my CrossFitter's aches and pains, but she was completely transparent in her areas of focus! Go to her - she is the real deal. Seriously. Just do it. :)”
— Kristen M.
“Rachael knows her stuff. I've had ongoing knee pain for over a year and after dozens of PT and chiropractic visits with little, long standing relief, I decided to try Chicago Bodywork. After three sessions my knees and hips felt so much better. She explains how the various parts of the body work together and impact mobility and pain and takes time out to educate you on how to self-manage issues. I've learned a variety of stretches and self-care practices to help keep my knee pain at bay as well as methods to improve overall posture and mobility. The work she does is indeed unpleasant but you will feel so much better afterwards. I highly recommend her services!”
— Maria K.
“Rachael is simply amazing. I started to have some foot/knee issues due to working out and walking a lot more than in the past. I had heard great things about her and finally decided to go. After my first session I felt great! Like someone else said, this isn't a feel good massage but she really gets in to the muscles and gets all of it out. It was really painful but definitely necessary to get back on track. I knew though that since I do work out a lot that I would need at least another session. I went back two weeks after and she taught me how to do certain stretches on my own and I feel like a million bucks. If you are looking to heal please go here! I can't recommend her enough!!!”
— Diana A.
“Talked to Rachael a couple of times and decided to give it a try, today. I had a pretty good feeling about it before I got there but it was way better than I expected.
I'm 51 years old and have had more than my share of injuries. I've played sports all my life and have had countless massages, A LOT of physical therapy and three surgeries. Rachel and her practice are exactly what I was looking for. She didn't sugar coat anything and she got right to work.
This is not routine 'massage' by any means. Rachael 's practice is basically (from my perspective) about...improving your physical condition and you will feel a little discomfort, at first. I was there 4 hours ago and I feel a lot better now than I did then. NO discomfort, whatsoever.
Rachael is an excellent, caring, human being, as well. I've already made my second appointment. This is better than any massage I've ever had. Again, it's not a traditional massage.”
— M.K.
“I've been to Rachael several times and if I could go every day...I would. I have referred Rachael to several of my friends. Rachael has a tremendous business and it's relative because she's a tremendous person.”
— M.K.
“Rachael is the best massage, massage therapist, body pain management, massage therapy person I have ever gone to ever, not just in Chicago, but anywhere. I suffered from lower pain pain due to ill fitting orthotics and sitting at work too much with poor posture. Rachael has a tremendous knowledge of many different massage techniques and uses whatever technique will address your issues.
I would highly recommend Rachael for pain management and problem solving issues that doctors can not solve. She has a gift of healing that is amazing. Rachel "cured me" in two visits. After two sessions, I was able to get on two planes to get to Australia pain free!”
— Linda G.
“Rachael is AMAZING! I had a bad shoulder from working behind a desk and after one session with her, the pain is gone and a I feel completely realigned. My mom booked my appointment after Rachael worked wonders on her shoulder (that's given her problems since forever) and told me it was a "Thai massage"... Duped. But I wouldn't trade one session here for all the Thai / Swedish / deep tissue massages in my lifetime.
Come hurtin', leave healed.”
— L.G.
“I found Rachael and Chicago Body Work more than two years ago, and am so glad I did. The services she provides are amazing and have helped me with managing severe chronic back pain. Rachael is a consummate professional who also treats her clients as friends. I'm happy I have her and her practice in my life.”
— Megan K.
“Rachael is honestly a healer with super powers! have had a lifetime of pain and muscle cramping due to an illness and a severe accident a few years ago. I had spent years doing different healing modalities only to reach a point where I had severe pain daily. Doctors said that would be my normal for the rest of my life. Not true.
A few months of seeing Rachael and I have an amazing full active life that keeps improving. I 100% recommend that you make an appointment if you are serious about healing and experiencing relief of physical pain. She is caring, warm, and professional. You will definitely have a positive healing experience.”
— Lola P.
“Important Fact #1: Rachael is very, very good at what she does. Important Fact #2: Parking is free and convenient.
I'll let you decide which of these facts is the most important! I went to see Rachael because I had a chronic problem with pain in my knee that I had been dealing with for years and I had recently developed nerve pain running down my leg and a lot of pain and burning in my hip and buttock area. Within 4 sessions the nerve pain was completely gone and the pain in my hip and buttock area and knee significantly diminished. Using the self-massage advice Rachael gave me, and doing a lot of research on body biomechanics and working hard to clean up how I use/mis-use my body, I am now pretty much 95% all fixed up. It's amazing to be able to use my leg again after years of having to work around the pain. And my dog is thrilled because now we can jog together.
She will be totally honest with you and if she can't help you she won't pretend otherwise. I wish I had gone to see Rachael first and not wasted my time and hard earned money with a physical therapist and other massage therapists.”
— Karen H.
“I'm just going to echo what everyone else here has said. Rachael is a true healer. I've had countless massages over the years, and none can touch the level of awesomeness I got out of Rachael's work. After just 1 session, she fixed a chronic pinched nerve in my neck and taught me what to do to keep it from coming back.
It may be more intense than what you're used to, but this is not a spa massage. It's therapy. And it's incredibly effective. Rachael's the real deal.”
— Leila H.
“I have had chronic knee pain for many years due to a life time of running and playing sports, combined with working a desk job. I found Rachael by searching on Yelp. I was a little skeptical when I first went to her, but when one of her first statements when I walked in was "my goal is to see you as little as possible" made me realize she wasn't just trying to milk me for money, and after my first session I realized what a miracle worker she is. After 3 sessions my knee is doing so much better. Very knowledgeable about joints, how each muscle connects, and what to do to relieve pain with a long term goal in mind. A+”
— James O.
“I won't see anyone else after going to Rachael. Intelligent, caring, professional and just the right amount of pressure - firm yet gentle. I felt so much better after seeing her and will be back.”
— Kathy O.
“Rachael was great. I came to her because I have had intense neck and back pain for months. I even went to physical therapy to try and improve my situation. Shortly after PT, my symptoms came back. After seeing Rachael, I feel so much better. She was kind, intelligent and extremely knowledgable. I felt very comfortable during the entire session. I was really sore for a day or two after the appointment but it was worth it. When I went to leave, she noticed I didn't have any gloves with me, and gave me a pair of her own for my walk home! Overall, she's great and I would highly recommend her.”
— Jessie W.
“If you believe that massage is a practice for healing, and not only for spa treatment, then Rachael is who you need to see. When you are invited into her studio, you can see all the evidence of her study on the body and she can show you on diagrams what will be worked on to help you with your unique need. I have been experiencing numbness and tingling in my arms and hands, particularly after sleeping. She worked on me using a vibration machine, massage, working pressure points, manipulation techniques, and she even gave me a bit of homework. Her personality is warm and professional, and she is surrounded by an air of peacefulness. She truly listens to your needs, and works to heal your body long term. She is the only person I want working on my body other than me.”
— Maria T.
“I came to Rachael by surprise! My boyfriend had grown tired of hearing me complain about a nagging shoulder pain that had resulted from a car accident, so he set up an appointment for me to come see Rachael. I have to say by far the best surprise I have received. My experience with Rachael was amazing, she asked questions in regards to my pain and explained the whole process. Rachael knew what I was going to feel before I felt it, she knows what she is doing and what she is talking about.
Just as Rachael predicted I felt sore the next day, but better and better each day ahead and now my pain is almost gone. There is some pain involved with the therapy, but is the type of pain that almost instantly makes you feel better. Thank you for all of your help, Rachael! I will be back for more!”
— Keyla P.
“Believe the hype! I won't be seeing anyone else for my back pain from now on. I've paid more money for a "nice" massage that gave me no actual results. Rachael relieved me of my pain for weeks! I sent my boyfriend to her and he immediately booked another appointment. She is also super friendly and will provide you with many tips to help you in between sessions. If you are in need of real therapy she is your girl!”
— Aubrey P.
“I am so glad I found Rachael. I have had constant pain in my back, shoulders and neck. She knew exactly what to do to loosen my tense muscles. The bodywork was painful, but so worth it. She told me what to do afterwards to minimize any soreness the next day, I followed her instructions and woke up with no pain. After just one session I feel like a new person. All of the knots I had in my back are gone and I even feel like my posture has improved. I highly recommend!”
— Ali K.
“I decided to give Rachael a shot after reading the reviews here and I'm so glad that I did. I came in with lower back pain and a neck injury and after just one visit with her, I felt amazing! She definitely focuses on healing and not just massage. She knew about several previous injuries just by touch!! If you want to get real healing and advice on how to keep your body out of trouble, do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment. I can't wait to go back!”
— Lee D.
“AMAZING. I suffered a horrible pinched never about 8 months ago, and have not recovered 100% since. I have gone to several massage therapists, some better than others, but none really did the job 100% Then I came across Chicago BodyWork and Rachael in my neighborhood. I'll say it again... AMAZING.
If you are looking for a relaxing spa-treatment, this is NOT the massage for you. If you are looking for PAIN and/or DEEP STRESS relief, this IS the place for you. My range of motion is better than it's been in MONTHS after just one session.
Rachael - I AM a believer! Thank you!”
— Randy B.
“I should have gone to Rachel sooner. Like 2 years ago sooner.
1 hour session she focused on my lower body issues. I'm a marathon runner and I have had pain (lower back/ S.I. joint area) for almost 2 years now and Rachael brought me back to a place of relief. She used trigger point therapy and a whole lot of deep stretching. My muscles had been knotted up for so long and Rachael knew just what to do.
I chose to see Rachael because I was tired of paying for deep tissue massages that never did anything for me. I need a therapist like Rachael who uses all the skills in her arsenal to address my problem areas. Seriously. That's how my appointment went. I didn't go in saying I'd like a deep tissue massage please! My appointment went the way healthcare should be. I told Rachael where and what my pain was and she then told me what therapies would be best for me.
Doesn't that just make sense? You don't go to the doctor saying, I think I need some antibiotics today. No, you go in tell the doctor what ails you and then you're prescribed meds/treatment plan. Same goes for body pain. Go see Rachael, tell her what pains you, and then she'll fix you right up.”
— Lauren A.
“Rachael is the best!!!!! I went to several other "therapists" but they didn't help me at all! I have pain in my legs, feet, back & shoulder, Rachael has given me my life back! I was unable to stand for too long, & I was unable to walk without pain, and after ONE session with her I could walk without pain. Today was my 4th visit and I will not go to anyone else!!! She targets the areas that I have problems, she uses tools that are awesome, and she is very smart and sweet!! I love love love her...thank you for moving to Chicago!”
— Cindy W.
“Yes, yes, yes if you want pain relief from someone who actually knows that they are doing - go to Rachael! She massaged hard in places that needed it and were contributing to my pain. She was excellent with communication and gave me pain relief tips before we met (because our schedules weren't connecting and I had to wait a week to see her). She has also followed up with me to make sure my pain is down.
I have also referred someone there for repetitive stress injury from using the computer all day. Rachael understands anatomy and knows how to work it! I have not seen her while pregnant, but we spoke about back pain during pregnancy - she is certified in this area and I would go to her in a minute for prenatal massage as she understood the pain I had while pregnant just during our discussion about it.
As other people mentioned, this is not a spa massage but I found the environment and her personality to be very relaxing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”
— April T.
“Yet another thank you to Yelpers for the reviews for Rachael. Bodywork is something that EVERYONE should treat themselves to, even if you aren't feeling pain. Sitting all day, standing all day, being active, riding your bike, running - it all puts us into dysfunction in some way or another.
First of all, her communication is fantastic. You can text her and/or call her (pretty sure you can email her as well). She responds quickly and will find a time that works for you. After my visit, she contacted me via text around 2 days after I saw her. That's some great customer service!
I was in quite a bit of pain and wanting to see someone immediately to feel some relief. I've had ongoing pain from injuries stemming from running and lifting. I've been going to physical therapy on/off (more so on) for years, as well as seeing different sports Docs. With the frustration of at least getting some short term relief between physical therapy appointments, I called several massage therapists and body work folks. Rachael was the person I absolutely wanted to see. Just look at her reviews here. Look at her website. She is a person who is clearly passionate about what she does. She loves what she does. I couldn't wait to meet her.
This isn't a spa experience. Bring comfortable, loose clothing. You have no choice but to stay present to the session! For those of you who haven't had active release technique, cupping and Graston technique, you are in for a real treat! Rachael uses similar methodologies and tailors it to what your body is telling her. Her release on iliopsoas and stretches for my sacroiliac joint pain and cupping/IATSM (look it up on her website) work on my knee (which hasn't been the same since knee surgery) is what my body needed. She also worked on my pecs due to the shoulder blade pain I've been having. I requested 2 hours for my first session with her; I felt like a million bucks walking out. To walk down the stairs with no knee pain after her appointment was incredible. She gave me some stretches to do to maintain proper form, suggested supplements to buy as well as what to eat after the session. She is realistic about the knots/soreness/pain that may or may not remain after the session. I truly appreciate her honesty.
Prior to my appointment with her, she recommended an Epsom salt soak. The pain had been so bad for days I was waking up in the middle of the night and really agitated. I had never done one before as I thought it was for old people (talk about being a moron!). I slept like a baby that night. She also recommended the bath toward the end of the day after my appointment. It was a good call!
The work she does is not particularly pleasant (kudos to the reviewer who said "This is not for wimps!"), but it gets you results. Your body is your home; if you're willing to maintain everything else but your body, that's a damn shame. Your body will eventually tell you with pain that it needs you to do something about it. So do it. Go to Rachael and educate yourself on your body on your own time. Don't just rely on a Doctor to do it. (End rant)
I really enjoyed talking to her during our session and hope that more people patronize her and see the relief she brings. She is a really wonderful, strong, authentic person. Be sure to tip!”
— Johanna C.
“Rachael is incredible. My back is a total mess, and most massages I've gotten have been useless. The masseuse usually can't get past the first layer of seized up muscles, and I leave stressed out and frustrated. Rachael REALLY got into the stuff that has been knotted for years. I have more mobility in my back, neck and hips. I wish I lived in Chicago so I could see her more often! Plus, she was really fun to talk to. Highly recommend!”
— C.G.
“I had my first session with Rachael today and am so excited to have a new go-to person for functional massage therapy. With Rachael, it's evident that she's into the science of it all and not wed to any particular approach - it's a blend of approaches. I do Crossfit, strength training and rowing and have all of the issues (mobility, tightness, etc) associated with each. I really appreciate Rachael's broad yet deep knowledge of how everything works together - and how certain issues are red herrings for others.
Most importantly, I get the sense that she has integrity. She's just one of those people that are great in their chosen field and don't capitalize on that at the unnecessary expense of others. Refreshing.
Results: I'm sore (as expected). And... I also PR'd a problem lift by 19 pounds after seeing her.”
— Bethany F.
“I can't recommend Rachael highly enough! I went to her for some extreme back pain that had been plaguing me and was incredibly impressed with both her professional demeanor (she really took the time to talk through and analyze the sources of my back pain) and the results she got. Within a week, I was feeling almost no traces of the pain I went in for.
The space is clean and peaceful and her practice and techniques are effective but conscientious. She also does follow-up calls to check in with you after treatments, which I really appreciated.”
— A.E.
“About Rachael: After years of disappointment with doctors and chiropractors (and the two really despise each other), I finally met Rachael through a friend.
Rachael is amazing because:
1) she explains everything very well, what she will work on, how she'll do it, and what exactly is out of balance in my body (which the chiro and PT never had time to do)
2) spends a solid hour working on you (you feel amazing afterward)
3) grades my 'homework' (aka: gives feedback on my daily 1-hour core stretch & strengthening regiment")
4) is a genuinely good person who makes you feel relaxed and comfortable
5) Is a true professional with solid experience and professional equipment
My History: I am 27 and a pretty active dude. My back was in terrible condition after 15 years of serious skateboarding, multiple cross-country bike tours, and a desk job where I sit for hours on end.
I've been in and out of doctor's offices for 5 years now...I've been diagnosed with scoliosis, a slipped disk, sciatica (a pinched nerve), anterior pelvic tilt, bad posture & an unwillingness to give up physical activity :)
I was seeing a Chiro that would charge me $60-115 for what felt like 15 minute sessions. He seemed very busy. He would not give me straight answers and left me feeling unsatisfied every time. He helped my back until I slipped on ice and threw it right back out-of-place.
I had doctors that either admittedly did not know what was wrong or would give me codeine or cortisone shots to make the pain go away. But I don't want to avoid pain, I want to strengthen and correct my core! I went to specialists and eventually to PT, but the PT (Athletico) was seemingly designed for old, out-of-shape people (even the pictures had old people doing the stretches!) and it was rather ineffective.”
— Matt F.
“Rachael was exactly what I was hoping for: knowledgeable about her craft, kind, and approachable. Not a pretentious d*****bag at all. She took a chance on me and accommodated my situation with grace and generosity. If I lived in the area, I would be back again for sure... I would recommend her to anyone.”
— Kirsten T.
“Sorry for the long review here but hope some of this might be useful to all. Alex works for my wife and I. We own a bike shop. Alex went to Rachael first, second and third. Alex doesn't talk (a lot) but when he does you listen. I think his comment when I finally asked was "she knows what she's doing". Then there was an ambiguous comment about BE READY. So I lost 20 pounds and my wife got hotter and we decided to reward ourselves after a quarter century of loving each other with this experience. So we booked consecutive appointments and watched each other as Rachael went to work.
I was first - Rachael knows us from the bike shop and briefly asked me about the herniated discs (L1/S5) and went to work. On the lower half of my body. Why? Cause she knows what she is doing. The problem with customers in both of our businesses is ignoring the disinformation. The problem with my back is the effect, not the cause. Curious if Rachael agrees. So my poor wife had to endure an hour of watching Rachael using suction, elbows, body weight and leverage against my aging lower body as I struggled to let her in to get the job done. I walked off the table feeling like an ATHLETE and then was very curious what Rachael's plan was for my wife.
Linda was recently out of arthroscopic hip surgery that resulted (after 8 hours) in the surgeon telling her mother and her husband that he was surprised to see the amount of arthritis in her hip and that hip replacement was definitely in her future. In the interim, physical therapy and pain management were the next best plan. He was even so kind as to explain to my mother-in-law and I that my wife had a hip joint very similar to a labrador retriever meaning their is essentially no socket and the hip bone just rotates around a vague semi-circle of hip joint.
Rachael's approach to my wife used an entirely different set of tools and techniques. The suction cup was out a new vibrating tool was in. She immediately noticed a leg length discrepancy that Linda verified was identified prior to surgery. I'm guessing less than an 1" but what was interesting to me was could this session get a perfectly healthy hot 50 year old back to even leg length cause I'm pretty darn sure that's what I married a quarter century ago. Yes she did. And (two) Epsom salt bath's later we're really looking forward to our next appointment(s) and the pleasure of Rachael's company. Which is the icing on the cake, cause this lady is JUST PLAIN COOL.

“I was on a 2 week vacation in Europe and between lugging around heavy baggage and bad hostel beds, I felt a tightness on the right side of my middle back. I felt totally off balance like a car pulling to the left. I had a massage from Rachael about 6 months prior to my trip. It was more intense than other massages I've had before, but I felt great afterward.
I saw her for the second time and after the massage, my back felt great. The tightness was gone and I felt totally in balance. If you're just looking for a relaxing spa treatment or have a low tolerance for pain, look somewhere else. But if you're looking for someone who's not afraid to dig in and get all the knots out, you won't find anyone better. I would highly recommend.”
— Kurt M.
“Rachael is fantastic! Her use of Thai massage and trigger point therapy is exactly what I needed for my annoying low back pain. I've seen her twice now, and can honestly say that I got off the table feeling considerably better both times. Her space is simple, clean and inviting; her techniques are varied and her price is affordable.
Do yourself a favor and make an appointment!”
— B.P.
“I used to get massages semi regularly but through stretching and yoga it became something I really didn't feel the need to do anymore. But recently I had found myself with some really annoying back pain that made me check out my local massage options. Well, now I am really grateful for that pain because it led me to Rachael.
Her technique is very different from what I've experienced in the past - there were some interactive moments and overall it was more intense and less relaxing. But that's the point - her goal is to help you and your body, not charge you for a nap on her massage table. By working on me she was able to tell which weight lifting exercise I do a lot of (and could scale back on) and suggested ones I could do more of to even myself out and reduce my pain. While I went there for back pain we actually spent a lot of time on my chest as she explained that it was also aiding in my problem.
Well, I feel completely different after that massage, both physically and emotionally. I know that 'emotionally' part may make some people roll their eyes, but it's true. I feel so frackin' good all over! Going to see Rachael for my pain was the best decision. Even if my back pain never comes back I will continue to see Rachael to work on my flexibility and range of motion.”
— Scott S.
“Rachael is fantastic and really knows her stuff. 2 weeks ago, fed up with suffering from general winter stiffness and muscle soreness and wanting to find someone for regular bodywork to balance out my active lifestyle, I was in search of a massage therapist in my area with a little more to offer than just a scented candle spa massage. Found Rachael through yelp and needless to say I will be calling only her from here on out. She has an extensive knowledge on the sources of pain and tension in the body and a calm but extremely effective touch for working them out. Not to mention she's the best deal in town with a flexible and accommodating schedule. Highly recommended.”
— Jesslyn J.
“Rachael is amazing. I went to her with severe upper back pain. It was at the point where even walking was uncomfortable and at times, painful. She asked me what my problem area was and she actually listened. As in, she didn't spend 40 out of 60 minutes rubbing my earlobes, toes and calf muscles.
She focused on my problem area and when she worked on my chest muscles and shoulder muscles, she explained how those muscles are contributing to my back pain. Seriously knowledgeable. Her website doesn't lie. She's not there to give you the spa experience type of massage. Some parts of the massage were downright painful but when I left, I felt a million times better. I had the best nights sleep of my life that night. Pain free.
I really look forward to going to see her again. My only complaint is that I waited so long and lived with so much pain before I booked my appointment.”
— Michelle Z.
“Rachael gives some of the most creative, focused, and lasting body work I've ever received. As a dancer with a slew of alignment problems and chronic injuries, I am always seeking out a more comprehensive body work approach. I feel that I've found it in Rachael. In a visit, she might do intense range of motion stretches with me, stuff that feels as deep as Rolfing, Chinese medicine techniques like cupping, and any other assortment of amazing methods. The work can be tough, but Rachael's calm energy is trustworthy and she gets the job done.
I can always trust that with Rachael, I will have a body work session customized toward my specific needs. She has a great ability to "read" the body and has several times revealed to me the actual root of a problem that I was feeling somewhere else. She manages to completely fill an hour-long session; I always leave feeling amazed at how much she accomplished that span of time.
Though I do love a Zen-like massage experience with scented oils and tabla music, I have come to believe that Rachael's approach is far more productive in terms of my health. She "keeps it real" and gets to the root of the problem in as many ways as she possibly can. I may leave with some marks and bruises, but the actual lasting benefits and healing power are far greater than with any other massage I've experienced.
Rachael's work is super affordable and so good. I would highly recommend her to anyone, but especially to dancers and movers who are looking for a more comprehensive approach to body work.”
— Meghann W.
“This is not a massage for wimps. This is a massage for athletes or other people who have persistent pain/aches/soreness/general discomfort that they want to address and are willing to work with Rachael to address them. This is not for those who want temporary cures or oil-lathered rub downs. Basically, this is an awesome massage. I wouldn't go to anyone else.
Just two examples of awesomeness. I'm a marathon runner. So my hip flexors are basically a mess. In just my first session, Rachael was able to release muscles that were so tight I thought for years they were tendons or bones. This was at times a painful experience, but extremely gratifying. When I complained of a sore shoulder she did this thing where she used pressure points and had me move my neck in different position. The next day, I had about 350 x greater range of motion.”
— Katharine O.
“I started going to Rachael after getting a stellar recommendation from a friend. I keep going back because I'm very pleased with the results for my multiple maladies ranging from chronic low back & SI joint pain to plantar fasciitis. If you are looking for a frou-frou, aromatherapy, soft touch, relaxing, B.S. massage, this is NOT the place for you.
But if you need a customized treatment that targets specific issues, there is no better place. It is a perfect fit for me because I want to feel better physically TOMORROW, not just more relaxed today. Very low key atmosphere, close to my home and the price can't be beat. She is tremendously accomodating when I'm in serious pain. And she even seems to sense when I need to come in and proactively texts me. I highly recommend her!”
— Dara G.
“Had a great, great massage experience here. Rachael really understands the body/ how it works/ why it hurts. This was a great restorative experience and I would definitely recommend Rachael to anyone looking to work on feeling better, vs. just feeling sleepy after a massage. She is also really friendly and will let you pick out your music for the session if you so choose. I felt really comfortable and at ease and even though it's painful (in the good way!) I really enjoyed my session. Highly recommend!”
— Liz K.
“By far, the best massage I've ever had. Rachael is super approachable, funny, smart, friendly, and cares about her clients. The reason I came in was that I wasn't able to sleep because my back hurt so badly. She not only corrected it in a matter of an hour, but gave me advice on how to avoid upper back pain in the future. And it was super affordable! I'm a student, so I normally can't afford most things, but it really helps to take care of yourself. Fantastic and friendly; I will definitely be going for years to come.”
— Elite T.
“Rachael is amazing. She's great at listening to what your issues are and coming up with a custom plan to help you, even if it's a little out-of-the-box. She helped me release some scar tissue resulting from surgery and stretches me in ways I'm not capable of stretching on my own. She's a great body "listener" and really knows how to manipulate your body to get it to its healthiest place. Highly recommended!”
— Brenda J.
“I have suffered with back issues for over 20 years and was referred to Rachael by a close friend after a recent spasm that left me immobile for a couple of hours and then sore for a couple of weeks. Rachael has pinpointed my back issues like no one ever has in the past (doctors, chiropractors and other massage therapists) not only to I feel better, she also has extensive knowledge on what exercises and stretches I need to do in order to correct the muscle imbalance in my hips, abdomen and glutes. I highly recommend Rachael and I am only sorry I didn't meet her years ago!”
— Rob O.
“I was in the Marine Corps for 8yrs. I have worked as an EMT/Paramedic in Chicago for 15yrs. At my heaviest I was 130lbs; my body was not built for the work I love. When not carrying sick people (who basically all outweigh me), I practiced martial arts & sparred & was extremely physically active. My body has been beaten & torn up by my what I do. The only way I could maintain this was through regular regimens of bodywork & with the assistance of practitioners like Rachael who understand not only the physical mechanics & structure of the body, but go into all fields that affect it- acupuncture & energy movement, nutrition, mental & psychological counseling, and more.
Over the years I have gone for many "massages." I always tell them of the functional issues I need addressed; this is not for fun, this is to stay functional in a context of a life of extreme activity & chronic pain management. Rachael is without exception the best. She has trained & is educated on a wider variety of techniques, familiar with more modes of treatments—the nuances, intricacies & what is most appropriate for YOUR pains- than any other I have met over the last 20+yrs of public service. Her "massages" are never fun or pleasant; they are physical massage therapy of the most effective kind I have ever experienced. I have gone to her several times bent over in pain, hunched like Quasimodo, stuck like that for days—& in 1 or 2 sessions she is able to right me back up. NO ONE could be recommended higher in my opinion.
If you want a relaxing massage, DON’T come here. If you want a spa, this is not for you. If you want to be healthy & function highly & maximize your body's abilities—this is for You. If you have chronic pain issues related to physical activity & work— this is for You. I have been around several other blocks several times, & I can tell you—if those are your issues—you will find nowhere & nobody better at what they do than Rachael.”
— G.S.
“Rachael is a real healer. Always leave pain free. I strongly recommend anyone with pain should seek Rachael's help.”
— Bill V.
“Rachael is incredible at what she does. Extremely knowledgeable, and walked away feeling better than I ever have from a massage. Could not recommend highly enough, either for chronic pain or for just a massage!”
— Alessio M.
“Rachael is an amazing masseuse. She is incredibly knowledgeable and will attack your problem points releasing knots. I heartily recommend a massage as you will feel better quickly.
— Frances T.
“Rachael is absolutely amazing at pinpointing the issues and connecting with clients. Chicago Bodywork is a very welcoming space and I will definitely recommend Rachael to everyone I know.”
— Amy M.
“I think I forgot to rate Rachael after I saw her. I went to see Rachael a few months ago and have not needed to go back. I am actually quite saddened that I don't need to go back because that is simply how amazing her work is! I had been suffering from migraines and chronic tension in my shoulders. One visit to Rachael and now if my shoulders get tense while I am work it disappears by the end of the day. My migraines rarely show up anymore and if they do I can usually discover the cause of them. Rachael is definitely worth going to over anyone else!”
— Angela L.
“I took a couples class with my boyfriend because we both are pretty hard on our joints and muscles with work and working out. Rachael's approach to therapy is great and worked well for us. We learned how to help each other work through some of our injuries with a few key techniques and some basic knowledge of trigger points and how muscles connect and react. We will be back in a couple months to learn more. It was very empowering but at the same time I really respect the work Rachael does and the amount of knowledge she has. It's cool that she has created a class where one learns therapy techniques to do on a more regular basis at home versus going in for body work on a weekly basis, which is a bit out of my budget. Thanks Rachael!”
— Shari C.
“Rachael is the woman! She is truly amazing at her craft. I knew within minutes I'd be a client for life. She's revolutionized my outlook on what it's like to take care of myself. I can go on and on so try for yourself!”
— Bryan C.
“Rachael is a natural healer. I suffer from TMJ, migraines and upper back/neck stiffness. I do yoga regularly, wear a splint for the TMJ at night, and take magnesium supplements for the tension. I've seen many doctors and tried every prescription migraine medicine under the sun. Over a year ago I had to have surgery on my neck and still have some tension. Rachael is SO intuitive. She is good at finding all of my trigger points and working them out. I went to her once with a migraine that I had had for a week straight with no relief. She was able to locate pressure points on my neck to release the tension and that persistent migraine finally went away. Nothing else had worked! (Prescription migraine meds, dietary changes, yoga, acupuncture, etc.) As others have mentioned, this is not a spa experience. It is far better. You will actually experience real relief. It is not for the faint of heart. I think I have shed tears during sessions when the knots were really bad. As another plus—Rachael does not try to get you to come back every week. Her goal is to treat you so that you never have to go back again. It is so refreshing to go to someone that genuinely cares about helping people, and is great at it. I couldn't recommend her more.”
— Marie W.
“Went to see Rachael on a trip to Chicago. I was looking for a therapeutic solution to a chronic lower back issue not a relaxing massage. As promised on her website, Rachael provided an excellent diagnosis of the problem and spent over an hour solving it. Through manipulation and deep trigger point work she released muscles in my back that had been seized for some time.
Rachael's bodywork is the most effective I have encountered. She is open and honest and an interesting person as well. She gave me suggestions to maintain the progress we had made. While I live halfway across the country I will visit Rachael whenever I am in Chicago. She is a rare person and I was lucky to find her.”
— A.S.
“Rachael is wonderful! I've been training for a marathon and I've got lots of knots in my legs, calves, glutes, etc. Rachael's techniques have been helpful in helping me to get back to good running form. She has a lot of knowledge about the body and alternative therapies.”
— Rosemary L.
“I went to see Rachael on a recommendation from a fellow long distance runner. I was experiencing acute symptoms of plantar fasciitis in my right foot that was keeping me from running at all. My experience with Rachael was fantastic and this past Saturday, I was able to run 15 miles PAIN FREE in my foot!
Rachael is incredibly kind and mild mannered. She knows the techniques she uses are different from a traditional massage session and she is fantastic and talking you through each step of the process. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable and frankly, it is effective body work. You should absolutely give Rachael a try and you can expect to feel revived, relaxed and relieved after visiting her. I'll be recommending Rachael to others without a doubt.”
— Laura M.
“I just had my first massage yesterday, and it was the best hour of my life! I finally found someone who gets it and knows how to relieve the chronic pain I've been having for over a year that chiropractors, spinal injections and physical therapy didn't help! Rachael digs deep into the problem areas, which is what my muscles were begging for. She only worked on areas where I complained of pain and tightness and didn't waste time on anything that didn't need work. She's amazing! Highly recommended.”
— Mary Z.
“I have seen Rachael every other week for approximately 2 years. She is extremely knowledgable about muscle issues, trigger points, etc. As important, she very much cares about her clients. Sometimes her treatment can be tough — think about how it feels to roll out one's IT band —but the benefit is real and lasting. Rachael is at her best correcting a specific issue - a painful shoulder, an excessively tight calf, etc. It’s not relaxing, but it works!
In short, I highly recommend Rachael and her practice.”
— James S.
“Rachael is one of the most amazing people I've met. Her massages at times are painful but always therapeutic and beneficial. She has a great sense of how to help restore your body to a better place. I would recommend her to everyone who is willing to endure pain to ultimately feel better. She is an amazing person with a wonderful calmness and positive attitude. I'm a regular client and will be for as long as she practices!”
—Fran T.
“I was referred to Rachael by an ex-athlete who said "Rachael was the best massage therapist in the city!" It's true, Rachael is far more than a massage therapist. She really heals -- whatever is hurting. Back pain, plantar fascitis, shoulder injuries, muscle fatigue, stress -- whatever the ailment, Rachael knows how to work through it so the problem goes away. This is a serious therapeutic massage.
On a different note, Rachael is flexible and reliable. She is available when booked and almost always willing to extend the session if you would like to. It's a pretty amazing combination.
Should you be smart enough to hire her, enjoy!”
— Sara C.
“Rachael is, by far, the best and most effective massage therapist I've had. Her talent, knowledge, genuine concern and passion for her work can be felt with each massage. My sessions with Rachael have provided me with a great deal of healing and relief and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking the same. (Client from 2010-end of 2011)”
— Andrea F.
“This is as good as it gets! Inexpensive (a steal!) massage therapy that is very comfortable and calming. Rachael is an expert in healing and I have always felt so much pain relief after our sessions. She can do anything and everything!! Plus, the best part is how friendly and personable she is—she truly cares about her clients and goes above and beyond with them.”
— Meredith O.
“Rachael is the best massage therapist I have ever used!!!!! No question about it. She incorporates so many different techniques and is a master at fixing what ails you. This is therapy massage at it's finest—not the feel-good kind where you feel great for a few hours and your problems quickly come back. Do yourself a huge favor and schedule with Rachael. You will be glad you did.”
— Deborah B.
“Rachael healed me! I saw her once a week for a couple of months and my pain disappeared. She doesn't only help your body relax, but she actually takes care of eliminating any persisting knots anywhere in your body. Most massage therapist's goal is to relax their clients, but Rachael does not only help you relax, she heals and takes care of the root of the problem with her clinical massage knowledge. You might be sore after the massage, but you'll feel like new the next day. Thank you Rachael!”
— Carolina G.
“Rachael is the best massage therapist I have ever seen, without a doubt. She utilizes many different techniques depending on what your issues are, some very creative and unique. I cannot recommend her highly enough!!!!”
— Debora B.
“Rachael helped me when a slipped disc and a pinched nerve had me crawling around. She massaged all the bad out and now I'm as good as new. It took quite a few visits (a lot of them painful) but after everything was loosened back up I got my mobility back. Yay!!!!!!!!”
